The word Prayaan meaning Journey was conceptualised by the founders intending to service the complete business needs of its customers and thereby co-travelling with them on their entrepreneurial “Journey”.
Prayaan was established and currently run by professionals with rich experience in banking and financial services industry specifically in the MSME markets. The leadership team at Prayaan, with a combined experience of over one hundred and fifty years is committed to inclusively servicing, small businesses with a combination of both Technology and Retail Branches.

Madhan Mohan has over 21 years of extensive work in the MSME markets, having ably managed various roles in Credit Policy, Credit Under-Writing, Collections, Fraud Control, Operations, Sales, P&L, Strategy and invitee member on boards. His true passion lies in lending to improve the lives of individuals and businesses by providing the financial support required at the right time. He has been part of the set up, and built the MSME vertical for RBL Bank. He created the success at Swadhaar Finserve Pvt.Ltd. having driven both business and extensive expansion to build the company as a bench mark model of dedicated Business Correspondent. He has always been at the heart of the Indian MSME market with NBFCs and Banks like Fullerton India Credit Company Ltd., Sahayata Microfinance Pvt. Ltd., Vistaar Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., and successfully transformed businesses to meet new market demand & sustain a profitable trajectory.
Sujatha Mohan is a Retail Banking analyst with experience in Collections, Customer Service, Sales and Business Development. She has been associated with the ITES and Consumer Risk Management for companies such as Amazon Development Centre and TCS eServe Limited (formerly known as Citi group Global Services Limited). Her expertise spans from operational management of merchant selling platforms to managing the collections strategy. With a M.Sc. in Information Technology she has brought a unique understanding of integrating the operational, and customer service platforms to provide for efficient lending models.
Akash Chelvam has an extensive experience of over 15 years in the Banking and Insurance space with a domain expertise in Human Resources and Learning & Development. He has been part of the core teams to setup new geographies and business lines. In his last assignment with RBL Bank he was initially responsible for the Talent Acquisition & Business Partnering for the Agri & Inclusive Banking, taking care of Pan India hiring strategy and execution, also setup Small Business Banking vertical. He has also worked in the Organization Development team, primarily heading the Future Leadership Hiring initiatives for the Bank, along with various other projects spanning Pan India, post which he was seconded to RBL Finserve (erstwhile SwadhaarFinserve) as Head – Human Resources to grow the organization and to develop a robust structure in terms of governance. Having a comprehensive and strategic understanding of Human Resources, business requirements and organizational change he devised and implement coherent HR strategies along with improving internal process & procedures within a demanding environment. For Prayaan, Akash is leading Human Resources, Learning & Development, Administration, Operations, Tele calling and IT Infrastructure.
Srinivasavaradhan, graduated in MBA – Finance from Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai, has over 32 years of experience in the Rural Credit Oriented Fertilizers Industry in various roles in the area of Strategic Planning, Credit Policy, Collection Management, Internal Audit, Finance, Accounts and MIS. Experienced in Developmental Marketing in Rural Areas of South India with zero bad debts. As the Head of Finance & Accounts of Madras Fertilizers Limited with an annual turnover of around Rs 2600 Crores, he ably coordinated with the Government Departments and Banks for making available the required capital at the right time to manage the business operations. Srinivasavaradhan is leading the Finance and Accounts for Prayaan, and would also be giving strategic inputs to the overall functioning of the organization.
Tharasree Amarnath has over 20 years of global experience in the Information Technology industry and has successfully delivered large portfolio of projects for clients like CITI, UOB, Axis Bank, Colt Technology Services across multiple sectors such as Banking, Telecommunications and Manufacturing, covering different geographies across the USA, UK & APAC. She has expertise in managing delivery of several business applications from concept-to-completion with tangible business outcomes through the digital transformation journey. She is a distinguished thought leader with proven management skills in project planning & implementation, high quality & CSAT, customer & vendor management, system design & development lifecycle management, data analytics, developing business intelligence strategic road maps, and building effective teams aligned to organization goals. For Prayaan, Tharasree is leading all the technology initiatives organization wide and is responsible for the IT transformation in each of the department.
Avijeet Rakshit has over 20 years of extensive work experience in the Retail loans markets, having ably managed various roles in Sales, Credit Under-Writing, Collections and strategy. He has worked across products ranging from Unsecured business loans, Secured business loans and Auto Loans at renowned financial institutions such as HSBC Ltd, ABN Amro Bank, Edelweiss, RBL Finserve (formerly SwadhaarFinserve) and Indiabulls. He was part of the setup team in Edelweiss at Chennai for their business loans and also successfully piloted & launched MSME in Tamilnadu at RBL Finserve. He has ably led teams to success through his passion for retail loans in all his previous organizations and has been instrumental in achieving high quality portfolios & sales productivity while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. For Prayaan, he would be heading the Credit vertical and would be responsible to build a healthy portfolio.
Muralikrishnan has more than two decades of immense Sales experience handling different Retail Lending products. His career has seen him grow from a Sales Manager at the ground level going all the way to his last role as the National Sales Headfor Shriram Housing Finance Limited. He has extensive experience in starting new products and geographies including new start-ups, building organizations of character, quality and size. His career spans roles in Strategic Planning, Business Development,Sales &Marketing, Channel Management, Loan Administration, Client Servicing and building efficient Teams for organizations such as Bajaj Finserve, HSBC, ICICI Bank Ltd, Citicorp, GE Countrywide, BlowplastLtd , Johnson & Johnson, with a proven track record of increasing revenues, establishing networks, streamliningworkflow and creating a team environment to enhance productivity. In all his assignments he has always stretched the horizons to establish new benchmarks in sales operations while coaching teams for enhanced performance. For Prayaan, Murali is Heading the Business team across all locations, owning the Business targets along with the responsibility for smooth functioning of day to day operations at Branches and taking along all support teams.
Srivatsan has over 20 years of experience in Retail Asset including Sales, Collections, Clearing & Operations. He has worked across products both Secured and Unsecured, Car Loans, Commercial Vehicles Loans, Personal Loans, Housing Loans, MSME & Agri Loans to mention a few. His experience ranges over brands such as Sundaram Finance Limited, ICICI Bank, Citi Financial, RBS and RBL Bank. In his last assignment Srivatsan was heading Operations for South India all Retail Asset Products. For Prayaan, he is heading the Operations.
